IKEA
PARAMUS, NJ
IKEA, founded in 1943 in Sweden, is a privately held international home products retailer that sells furniture, accessories, bathroom and kitchen items in their retail stores around the world.
The company, which pioneered flat-pack design furniture at affordable prices, is now the world's largest furniture manufacturer, and has stores worldwide.
In 2003 IKEA opened a store in Paramus, NJ much to the delight of shoppers in North Jersey and New York, who had previously traveled to the only IKEA store in New Jersey in Elizabeth.
Let It Grow, Inc. was contracted for the landscape design and installation on this project. Parking lot islands were seeded and set with a variety of plants and evergreen trees. Planters were filled and we put in topsoil and mulch. We seeded in lawn areas, put down sod in others, and planted trees, bushes, flowers, ground cover, shrubs, and grasses. A major irrigation system was installed to support the variety of plants, trees and shrubs we planted.
The Ikea opening was a huge success and the landscape installation and the appearance of the site has made a very positive impact on the overall shopping experience. Let It Grow, Inc. continues to maintain the site throughout the year including lawn maintenance and snow removal management.
Bergen Town Center, located in Paramus, New Jersey, and originally known as the Bergen Mall, was built in the mid-1950’s and was the first large shopping mall In New Jersey.
