Once a jail, the $24 million makeover was transformed into premier office space featuring beautiful views of a 2.7 acre park now called the Leroy F. Smith Jr. Public Safety Building. As part of the transformation initiative, Let It Grow, Inc. built a state of the art outdoor green roof to fully capture the vision of this transformation.

Let It Grow was contracted to complete a 2nd floor green roof as part of the rehabilitation of the Leroy F. Smith Public Safety Building. The office tower green roof space created by Let It Grow overlooks the 2.7-acre Veterans Memorial Park, complete with dining tables off a new second-floor cafeteria. The roof was created under Let It Grow's certification as a LiveRoof system installer using construction methods and design to maximize sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, and usage of efficient materials.

Let It Grow's scope of work included installation of fiberglass planters, installation of the LiveRoof modules, electric, plantings, low voltage lighting, and related furnishings. With this installation, Let It Grow is now a certified LiveRoof installer which complements its green roof resume – emerging as a leader in commercial and public green roof installations.
