Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center (RCPC)

Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center (RCPC), is a psychiatric hospital exclusively for children and adolescents.
It is operated by the New York State Office of Mental Health, and serves children from the Hudson Valley Region. In addition to its inpatient facility, RCPC has a wide variety of outpatient services, including school-based aftercare programs, day treatment programs, and clinics.
In 2006, ground was broken on the new Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center (RCPC), a 56-bed treatment facility designed by Urbahn Architects for the Dormitory Authority, State of New York and New York State Office of Mental Health. The $36 million, 104,000 square foot facility was built on a six-acre site on the Rockland Psychiatric Center campus in Orangeburg, NY, south of the main building.
Let It Grow, Inc. was contracted by the State of New York Dormitory Authority to renovate, expand, build and landscape the center’s outdoor spaces and amenities.
Our scope of work on this project was broad; including complete site clearing, excavation & preparation, tree protection, full hardscape site construction around the entire site, landscape and playground/recreation/site furnishings installation.
One major part of the project was the concrete work. We installed front sidewalks and concrete walks, and entranceways, and put in beautiful brick pavers. We asphalted walkways and a new basketball court, including all base prep & edging.
Our expert finishers were brought in and unique concrete stamps in various tree leaf designs were carefully stamped into fresh concrete throughout the outside walkways and entrances outside in seemingly random yet balanced pattern designs.
We were proud to be a part of the center’s new expansion for children; especially building the specially designed, safe and secure outdoor recreation & play areas and the basketball court with equipment accessories. Unique game tables set on creative checker block pavers filled with colored sand were installed on top of a special safety surface we put in. Let It Grow, Inc. then brought in site furnishings such as benches, water fountains, bike racks, and trash receptacles.
