The Essex County Court House, centrally located in Newark, NJ, and built in 1906, is an example of civic architecture from the American Renaissance period.

In the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, funds were made available to renovate and restore the interior and exterior of this majestic building.

Let It Grow was brought in by Hall Construction for major site construction and landscape work.

Earthwork was performed and concrete sidewalks and curbs were put in all around the building. A striking plaza in front of the courthouse was created with clay pavers and granite bands, giving a noble look to the grand setting.

We were responsible for the water service, drainage, and the building and installation of an extensive Irrigation System with sleeving.

Fine grading prepped the area for topsoil and mulch. Plant material was installed by our landscape division, and sod was laid down in the grass areas to further enhance the site.

Finally Let It Grow, Inc. installed a decorative wicket fence to complete the renovation in late 2004.

Our success on this project earned Let It Grow subsequent work with the County of Essex including a renovation of the borough’s parking garage the following year and a complete park rehabilitation as General contractor for the Mildred Helms Park Project.
