LIBERTY SCIENCE CENTER
JERSEY CITY, NJ
Liberty Science Center, located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ completed a twenty-two-month, $109 million expansion and renewal project on July 19, 2007.
The expansion and enhancement of the existing facility propelled the Center to the status of a nationally recognized “large” institution, an important distinction in the museum industry.
The expansion added 100,000 square feet to the facility, the majority of which was new open space.
Let It Grow, Inc’s scope of work began with cleaning and clearing the site, including the parking lots, the entrance, and the surrounding landscape and open space outside the Center. We excavated and performed earthwork, allowing for us to build new concrete planters, and install brick and concrete pavers. New lighting bollards were put in along with site furnishings including benches, bike racks and banners.
Our irrigation team designed and implemented a full irrigation system restoration to support all the new planters, plants, shrubs, and trees that had been installed by our landscape division. We graded, top soiled, and mulched and also hydro-seeded the grass and meadow areas.
In 2008, Let It Grow, Inc. won the 45th Annual New Jersey Concrete Awards Honorable Mention from The American Concrete Institute for its outstanding work performed on the Liberty Science Center project.
