RIVER DELL HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC FIELDS
ORADELL, NJ
The River Dell School District, which includes River Dell High School and River Dell Middle School located in Oradell, N J, is the public school system that educates students within the Bergen County townships of Oradell and River Edge.
The High School renovation project was much needed and consisted of a complete redevelopment of the school's athletic facilities, including a new stadium complex, a new all-weather Field Turf football field, all new track and field events, softball and baseball fields, and seating for over 1,000 spectators. Ball field redevelopment included a varsity soccer field, a base ball field, a softball field, a field hockey field, two practice football fields and two practice soccer fields. Phase II of the renovations consisted of three major additions to the school and a complete redesign of the school's vehicular and pedestrian circulation systems.
Let It Grow’s scope of work included building the athletic fields, track, and practice fields, dugouts, dugout benches, and bases. We installed new state of the art irrigation and electrical systems. Landscape installation included topsoil, mulch, and a variety of plant material, trees, shrubs, seasonal flowers, and groundcover. We put down sod and seeded and maintained the vast lawn and landscape areas.
The improvements were impressive and well received by the students, parents, community members, the public, and the Board of Education alike. The River Dell District is currently raising funds for the next phase of the project, with a focus on a field house, which would include restrooms and a concession stand.
At more than $200 million, this is the most expensive soccer stadium ever built. It sits alongside the Passaic River with a view of the Newark, New Jersey skyline to the west, and New York City and Jersey City further off in a distance to the east.
