LIG CELEBRATES 25th ANNIVERSARY WITH 2011 BENEFIT CONCERT
On September 10, 2011, Let It Grow proudly celebrated its 25th anniversary, holding its annual benefit concert to raise funds for those in need. The theme of the benefit was” A Tribute to Watkins Glen” – a 1973 rock festival featuring the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, and The Band. In the spirit of that great event, over 450 people came to River Edge, NJ to enjoy live music, food, and fun for all ages. This year’s benefit helped 25-year River Edge resident Sam Nugent who is battling Lou Gehrig’s disease, and Brenna Lowry Hasselmann, an 11-year old girl from Warwick, NY who needs a lung transplant.
Outstanding tribute performances on two stages of continuous music from 2pm to 10 pm were played by The "The Band" Band, The Peach Project, The Notorious Baker Brothers, Particle Theory, Mike Corbin & the Backyard Band, and Reflections.
During the event, a moment of silence was held for 9/11 victims and families, with Father Matt Dooley of St Peter the Apostle Church of River Edge present to conduct a peaceful prayer. In addition, Johnny Rosso -- a child recipient of a past benefit, spoke to the crowd and said he “was happy that other kids and families will get help”.
The Let It Grow family, led by Paul and Christine Imbarrato have held 14 benefit functions to help children and families with life threatening illnesses. Paul was recently awarded the Dr. Harold Brandeis Community Service Award for his dedication and service to others – notably holding the benefit for over a decade and helping so many children and families.
Paul concluded the day’s activities thanking all attendees, corporate sponsors, and employees who contributed to the perfect day. Key Sponsors included the NY Football Giants, Creamer-Sanzari, MARJ Properties, Blue Dog Graphics, Mid-Atlantic Products, M&T Insurance Company, and the Conklin & Kraft Agency.
Let It Grow, Inc. 25th Anniversary Benefit Concert – A Tribute to Watkins Glen

Let It Grow is proud to announce we are celebrating our 25th anniversary and continuing in the tradition of holding an annual benefit concert to raise funds for those in need. This year’s benefit will be held on Saturday, September 10th at our offices at 52 Ackerson Street, River Edge, NJ 07661 (across the street from the North Hackensack NJ Transit Train Station).
The theme of this year’s benefit is A Tribute to Watkins Glen. In the spirit of that great event, there will be live music on two stages starting at 3 p.m. Some of the bands performing are Reflections, The "The Band" Band, The Peach Project, Notorious Baker Brothers, Particle Theory, and Mike Corbin & the Backyard Band.
There are two recipients this year. First is 25-year River Edge resident Sam Nugent, a 50-year old roofer with two college age children. 2 ½ years ago, Sam woke up with a numbness in his left foot which over a few months had spread up his leg and to his right leg also. After seeing numerous doctors and specialists and going through exhaustive tests; there was still no diagnosis – and without a firm diagnosis his insurance company stopped paying for any treatments. Without treatment, the deterioration rendered Sam wheelchair bound with palsy in both his arms. His disorder was finally diagnosed as ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) which has no known cure. Wheelchair bound with limited use of his arms, Sam continues to be upbeat and an inspiration to all. He is a remarkable man, worthy of your support.
The second recipient of this year’s benefit proceeds is Brenna Lowry Hasselmann, an 11-year old girl from Warwick, NY. Brenna has a brother and twin sisters. Up until an ICU hospital stay in February 2010 she loved to play the clarinet and piano, basketball, softball and soccer. She enjoyed swimming and riding her bike and hiking. She was an altar server and sang in her church choir. She loves anything related to art and music and has studied Spanish, Italian, Russian and Sign Language. She was diagnosed on December 1, 2010 with an extremely rare vascular disease called Diffuse Pulmomary Lymphangiomatosis. Brenna is in need of a lung transplant and she has had multiple surgeries and has weekly doctor appointments. Brenna needs your prayers and support to help her get healthy.
The donation is $25 at the door, $20 in advance. There will be food and merchandise for sale; a kid’s crafts area; BYOB, but absolutely no bottles. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 11th at 1 p.m. Please check the website frequently for any updates. Call Donna in our office at 201-478-6266; or e-mail doreilly@letitgrow.com for advance ticket sales and ad journal sponsorship information.

LET IT GROW DONATES HEALING GARDEN AT GIANTS TRAINING FACILITY IN HONOR OF THE JAY FUND FOUNDATION
On Friday, June 3, 2011 Let It Grow participated in a special donation of a healing garden located at the Giants Training Facility as part of Tom Coughlin’s annual Jay Fund foundation event. The Imbarrato family along with Let It Grow was privileged and honored to participate and build the Healing Garden in honor of the Jay Fund and the Giants organization. The Jay fund – created in 1996 supports families with children suffering from cancer.
Paul T. Imbarrato was proud to design, build and present the newly created garden to attending families. The 31 linear feet of the designed wall represent Jay McGillis’ jersey number – a former player of Tom Coughlin. Jay was a very special young man who developed leukemia while a member of the football team at Boston College.
A bluestone cross was designed to reflect a symbol of hope and faith along with plants that would flower beautifully to create healing. The Jay fund families spent time planting flowers, and participating in the last stages of completion that created a very special day at NMS.

Donation Form & Event Details |
Over the past 14 years, Let It Grow has raised countless dollars to help needy families and impact their lives as they journey through life’s difficult challenges. We support local families with life threatening illness and our contributions go directly to the families they benefit. We participate in and sponsor local and regional charity events, youth athletics, and various non-profit donations of time and services. We also contribute to the environment sponsoring trees, landscape projects, and maintenance services that benefit the communities we serve and work in.
Due to family health obligations, Let It Grow’s September 11, 2010 Tribute to Jerry Garcia Benefit Party has been cancelled. Despite the cancelled event, our efforts to raise funds continue.
This year, we are encouraging active participation with our employees, business associates, and vendor relationships to generate donations around our annual company picnic and help Emily Santana. Emily is battling 2 brain tumors since she was 6 months old causing multiple issues such as epilepsy and partial paralysis on one side of her body. Emily’s father Tito Santana is also a recent part-time employee of Let It Grow & Clothesline, located at 55 Kinderkamack Road in River Edge, New Jersey. In addition to Emily, we will also raise funds to benefit the Christ the King Preparatory School Scholarship Fund.
We realize that donation dollars have been squeezed in our current economy but assure you that our donations go directly to families that truly need financial assistance. Please see the attached page to make donations of any size value. Your generosity and thoughtfulness to Emily is of heartfelt gratitude.

Let It Grow ASSISTS WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP LITTLE LEAGuE
On March 27, 2010, Let It Grow Inc., a River Edge Landscape and Site construction company, helped Washington Township Baseball Inc. transform the minor league field at the Sherry Field complex. In one day, the field was transformed in time for this year’s baseball season. Activities included a re-graded infield, new sod, clay spreading, parking lot improvements, and new irrigation. Let It Grow, Inc. donated its field construction expertise along with equipment usage and materials and coordinated donations of other materials from Central Irrigation, Sussex Sod, Tilcon, C. Winters Supply and North Bergen Recycling.

Team Let It Grow Walks to Cure Diabetes
On Sunday, October 11, 2009 Team Let It Grow participated in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, to support Skanska’s efforts in Randolph, New Jersey, along with one-half million other walkers across the country.
Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children. Although diabetes and its complications kill one American every three minutes and accounts for 32 percent of Medicare expenditures, the good news is that, thanks to people like you, there is real hope for a cure through research funded by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Let It Grow would like to sincerely thank all of our donators and walkers raising almost $3,500 for a cure.
We couldn’t have done it without you.
Let It Grow’s Mission Trip in Cuapa, Nicaragua
This past summer, Let It Grow had an opportunity to give back to the global community by going on a mission trip to a small town in Cuapa, Nicaragua. The 7 day trip was primarily a medical mission trip to assist the town with basic medical, dental, and health needs. Shortly after administering medical assistance, we realized we could also help in other ways and put our construction skills to good use for the people of this small town.
As we walked into the church the first night, we saw a steep hill made up of dirt and rocks leading into the church building. This made it very unsafe for a lot of the people to get up to the church. The next day we saw some large stone blocks at one man’s house who was a member of this church. Once we saw these stones, the idea of building a set of stairs sparked -- what if we could build a set of stairs to aid these people? We got to work knocking out the dirt and putting up a brand new set of stairs.
When it was completed, the people of the town were very grateful for these new steps. Let It Grow was equally grateful to give back to a worldwide community that is in need.

2008 Annual Tribute to Jerry Garcia Benefit Party
Dear Friends,
Thank you to everyone who reached out and supported our 13th annual benefit concert. Because of you we were able to raise $11,000.00, rain date and all.
Proceeds will benefit John Rosso, Jr. and Kaylee Rivers. John has been battling leukemia since September 2005 and Kaylee is a five year old twin who was recently diagnosed with neuroblastoma.
Happily John is in remission but further treatments will be necessary for some time and Kaylee is just beginning her journey of recovery. Your generous donation will help see them through.
Again on behalf of all of us at Let It Grow, the Rivers’ family, and the Rosso family we wish to extend our deepest gratitude for your generosity and hard work. It is your thoughtfulness that makes our benefit possible each year and in turn allows us to touch someone’s life.
We look forward to seeing all of you again next year!
